A day in Longview. 12/26/11

So, cabin fever was getting all of us! Even Dad! So, he planned a day in Longview that included Letterboxing, lunch at The Butcher Shop(one of favs) and a walk through the mall.  We intended to search for 3 at the Longview Library, 2 inside and 1 outside. However, it being the day AFTER Christmas, the library was closed. So we found the 1 outside. Loved the clues!
Dad(Greg) was intrigued by a Letterbox at a Firestone.  So, search we must!  He and Sarah got this one because Katie and I chose to sit in the car, it was raining!

We had four clues left for the day.
All in one park. Planted by 2 different Letterboxers. Nice walking park that goes through a neighborhood.
We could only find 1. No worries! I caught it! No damage done.

Finally! First Finder!!! 11/23/11

While on Thanksgiving Break, since the girls and I are off, we hunted for one new, local Letterbox.  Sarah was the first one to find it! EVER!
This was our first visit to the Asian Gardens in downtown Shreveport. Beautiful palce!

GEAUX LSU!!! 11/13/11

While attending an AWESOME LSU home game we decided to squeeze in some Letterboxing with a favorite cousin, Kayla.

On the LSU campus in Baton Rouge, LA, we found , 'TAKING ORDERS"- One from Column C.

And then at a rest stop at the Achafalaya Basin we located this one, "LICENSE PLATE SERIES, BOX#2". This was at a really nice Visitor center.
All in all we had a very enjoyable trip!

3 in one day with Dad! 10/22/11

So, we headed out in search of 4 local letterboxes. Dad's idea! The first one we searched for was no longer there. We found a geocache in it's place. Bummer. But we pushed on and continued hunting!

We successfully located 3!  FROG MOLLY, HOLIDAY TRAIL OF LIGHTS SERIES, SHREVEPORT/B.C. @ BASS PRO SHOP, AND LOUISIANA BOURDWALK.

Letterboxing on Abbie's Birthday!! 10/21/11

Well, our 18 year old just couldn't decide what to do for her "Big Day".  So, we ended up Letterboxing.

We found a cool one at Chimp Haven, a local retirement area for aging Chimps.

And then, we found one at a public golf course with a Hitchhiker as well!

OUR FIRST PLANT!! October 16, 2011

On 10/16/11, we planted our first Letterbox.  Each year in Greenwood,LA there is a festival called,"Pioneer Days Festival".  So, we used that theme for our stamp!

On the road again.....October 8,2011

Once again, while on the road to a soccer tourney, we added Letterboxing to our trip.  On the way to Monroe, Louisiana we stopped at a rest stop in Ruston.  While there we found 2 letterboxes.

On the way back to Greenwood, Louisiana we stopped at the location where Bonnie and Clyde were ambushed and the end of their crime spree.  Neat bit of history.

Letterboxing on my birthday! September 4, 2011

While out of town for a soccer tourney, we decided to do some letterboxing in east Texas.  We searched for 3 and succesfully found 1.  This is a hand carved stamp of the Texas state reptile : the Horned Lizard.  Beautiful carving! Beautiful park in Duncanville, TX.
